rachel is a multi-instrumentalist and berklee alum behind when the crow flies. she loves the process of songwriting, and makes music to funnel emotions that threaten to burst out. her influences include:

rachel is from the northeast usa and lives with her spouse and two cats.

my first endeavor...lots of acoustic and piano to set the soundscape up. a handful of tracks here were written and college, and one from even before then.

i decided to go with a grungy tone for this album. while there is an instrumental on here, i've grown into lyric writing more, so there's more to say.

the A side, "cardinal", is a very personal tune i wrote after my mother's death. the B side is a soprano sax instrumental that is meditative and serene.

i titled this album "windburn" because of the whirlwind of energy that came out of the songwriting process. the style goes back to my roots with more of a pop-rock flavor.
